  • uptight singaporeans

when i read today's article in the new paper about NUS students getting expelled from their halls due to doing a naked streak, the first thought that came to my mind was how uptight singaporeans are.

some time back, there was another article about a couple who paraded around holland village, naked, and got charged.

i don't understand why do we view nakedness as something so shameful or get disgusted by it? weren't we all born into this world naked? shouldn't the body should be embraced as it is and not be shunned nor disgusted unless displays of sexual acts are committed? then that will be offending.

and about the china artist who used his daughter's body for his paintings, i think the drawings are beautiful - a true expression of art and it portrayed her like a goddess, how he wanted it to be. there were no sexual connotations to the paintings so take a chill pill.

loosen up people... it's time to love and embrace your body in its nakedness. then perhaps body issues won't be such an issue anymore.
